KL Microgreens a USDA registered farm developed out of our desire to eat healthier, expand on one of Rick’s hobbies, (hydroponics - that he has had for decades), and share our enjoyment of discovering microgreens with others. Microgreens contain high levels of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other essential elements everyone needs to stay healthy. They also are a very convenient and easy fresh food to use in preparing meals – something that Jodi thinks is great for busy households. In addition to being a simple garnish, microgreens can be your salad, tossed in a salad, added to a sandwich/wrap, or sprinkled on top of or included in any dish to give additional nutrition, flavor, and texture. IKL Microgreens is proud to have earned the Green Seal of Hawthorn Woods based on our ongoing sustainability initiatives recognized by the Village of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois.
